Mouse found in bag of bread at Price Rite in Worcester

WORCESTER, Mass. (WLNE): A customer went to grab a loaf of bread at Price Rite in Worcester, when he discovered a mouse inside of the bag.

Raymond Ayala caught the mouse on camera while he was shopping at the store on Gold Star Blvd around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

ABC6 News reached out to a spokesperson with Wakefern Food Corporation who said Price Rite is aware of this video.

“We take this matter very seriously and are committed to maintaining a clean, safe and pest-free environment for our associates and customers to work and shop,” Daniel Emmer said.

The statement went on to say, “we have taken immediate action and the Department of Health has been to the store and reviewed the steps we are implementing to address the situation. Every retail food establishment is susceptible to pests, and Price Rite partners with an independent pest control management company for ongoing review and maintenance in all our stores. We at Price Rite are committed to the highest sanitation and food safety standards in our operations to ensure compliance with state and local health regulations.”
