Mr. Lemon unveils new flavor in memory of Maryellen Goodwin
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The line at Mr. Lemon went all the way down the sidewalk on Friday afternoon.
People came to Providence to beat the heat and to see the new flavor in honor of a beloved Rhode Island Senator.
Senate Majority Whip Maryellen Goodwin died of cancer in April. The owners of Mr. Lemon wanted to pay tribute to the lifelong Rhode Islander.
They unveiled their new flavor, Majority Whip Whip Goodwin, a mix of apple and blue raspberry.
The popular lemonade shop is open from noon to 7 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Goodwin’s colleagues told ABC 6 News she fought for the people of Smith Hill for nearly 40 years.
She was first elected to the Senate in 1986. She was the second longest serving member of the chamber.
