Much-needed rain this weekend; flash flood risk
Providence, RI (WLNE) — I hope you all enjoyed the sunshine these past two days, because it won’t be back for a while.
Clouds increase tonight with some patchy fog. Saturday is an overcast but dry day with highs barely reaching 60 degrees.
Rain will start popping up after midnight into early Sunday morning and will become heavy as it overspreads the region. There is a slight risk of flash flooding for southern New England, especially for poor drainage areas and roadways. Rain amounts look to be up to 1 inch.
Skies remain cloudy Sunday night and showers could wrap around this system both Monday and Tuesday as it hangs up off the coast.
Unseasonably chilly ai will be with us throughout the week, as highs struggle to get out of the 50s.
Have a great weekend!
