Firefighter taken to hospital after fire that destroyed home in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A firefighter was taken to the hospital after a fire that destroyed a home in Providence Tuesday morning.
The second floor of the multi-family home on Evergreen Street caught fire at about 1 a.m.
Deputy Assistant Fire Chief Steve Capracotta said about 50 to 60 firefighters responded to the scene.
“The attic was where we had the most problems with, you know a lot of personal items were up there, really loaded so we had trouble getting up there and that’s how it got ahead of us a little bit,” said Capracotta.
Fire officials said that the building is a total loss, but all residents made it out safely.
No further information was immediately released.
