Multiple officers respond to a stabbing on Cambridge Street

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Providence police confirmed that they were called Monday night to a Cambridge Street apartment around 9:30 p.m. for a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, police met with the victim who explained that he had been stabbed by his roommate after finding out his roommate was a level three sex offender. When the victim confronted the suspect an argument and confrontation began, the suspect stabbed the victim and fled the apartment complex.

The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for the stab wound in his abdomen, a minor mark on his shoulder, and a laceration to his hand. He did not suffer any life threatening wounds.
