Musician writes patriotic tune about Bristol 4th of July

BRISTOL, R.I. (WLNE) – They say to write about what you know – so Andre Arsenault wrote about Bristol.

The musician and music teacher spent most of his life in the patriotic town. He started writing a song about it last year.

Lyrics include everything from the red white and blue-striped street, to the concerts at Independence Park.

He debuted the song “02809”, Bristol’s zip code, on his Facebook in March. He would do live concerts on Facebook right from his basement, since coronavirus cancelled his usual gigs at local bars.

He says he’s hoping the song gives Bristolians something to look forward to, especially this year, when 4th of July in Bristol will be much different than in years past.

Arsenault will be performing the song in a car during the drive-by parade Saturday.
