BRISTOL, R.I. (AP) The Department Environmental Management says around 30 to 40 gallons of marine diesel spilled into Narragansett Bay in Bristol after a boat was found partially submerged near the docks for the Prudence Island ferry.

The Providence Journal reports (http://bit.ly/12vdOQF ) that federal contractors are working to clean up the spill, which was discovered Friday morning.
U.S. Coast Guard Operations Specialist First Class Tony Lombardi tells the Journal no one was aboard the 46-foot vessel. The cause is being investigated.
