N.P restaurant temporarily shut down

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – After violating multiple state COVID-19 mandates, Avenue Grille had to temporarily shut its doors.

According to a report from the Department of Health (DOH), the staff at the restaurant were not wearing masks.

Counters and other high touch surfaces were also not sanitized, and tables were not properly spaced, said the DOH.

The report also states that the owner believed COVID-19 was a “hoax” and that “the people that have died were going to die anyway”.

Avenue Grille is to remain closed until it can demonstrate that the “appropriate changes have been made”.

In a Facebook post on the restaurant’s page, they announced they would be open on Tuesday.

It is unclear if the changes were made ahead of the opening.
