Narragansett police seize 7 pounds of marijuana

NARRAGANSETT, R.I.  (WLNE)– Narragansett police said they’ve arrested a town resident after seizing over seven pounds of marijuana while executing a search warrant Monday.

Working alongside the Newport Police Narcotics and Special Crimes unit, officers also seized $22,380 and paraphernalia associated with selling the narcotic from a residence on Kathy Street.

Noah Murphy, 21, was arrested and charged with delivery of a schedule I –II drug,  police said.

Murphy was released on $10,000 with surety, and may face further charges as the investigation continues, according to a statement from Detective Lt. Scott Vellone.
