Narragansett surfers say waves from Lee ‘not for beginners’
NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (WLNE) — Narragansett residents and experienced surfers headed to watch the waves on Saturday morning to see the remnants of Lee, which settled into a post-tropical storm.
Surfers told ABC 6’s Josh Kurman the waves were not for beginners.
“We typically have to wait until we have 30 degree weather to have swells like this, so it’s nice to be able to be out here in 60 degree weather for sure,” one surfer said.
The National Weather Service said those braving the water should know their limits and stay aware of their surroundings.
The agency stressed that inexperienced swimmers should not enter the water and be careful while watching the storm’s impacts in southern New England.
