Record warmth today!

Forecast and discussion by Storm Tracker Meteorologist Nick Morganelli

We reached 62 at T.F. Green as of 11 am and broke the old record for the date set in 1909 at 58. A cold front will usher in a gusty wind today. The cold air lags behind and temperatures won’t tumble until evening. We’ll cool down tonight and Saturday as a secondary cold front returns more seasonal air to the region.

Gusty wind shifts to the west and eventually northwest today.  20-35 mph.

High pressure builds in for a sunny weekend, but we’ll watch a powerful ocean storm form once again (we just had one on Monday) This will miss us as well, but mariners beware of swell, surf and a strong gusty wind for the offshore waters on Monday.

The years listed are the ones that resulted in less than 50% of our seasonal average snowfall. We’re on track this year for that!
