New app designed by PC students aims to make your next night out more convenient

PROVIDENCE, RI (WLNE) – It’s aimed to change the way you plan your next night out.  A new app that will give you key information on different bars and who’s at them at any given time.

It’s called Hoppz, and it’s the brain child of a group of recent Providence College graduates.
“They can see who’s there, if it’s full, if there’s not that many people, ” Adriana Santos, a 2021 PC graduate told ABC 6 News.  “Maybe there’s a game going on. Maybe they have some special deal. Getting to see that information before you actually plan your night out, is a huge thing.”
Hoppz was launched back in August, and has already utilized a successful dual-sided marketplace.  Currently the app has over 1,300 individual users and over a half-dozen local establishments signed on, including the first bar to link up, Bradley Cafe in Providence.
“We have Providence College walking through the door, 5 nights a week where I can say 2-3 years back, I can say it was only 2-3 times a week,” Owner Gary Cicilline told ABC 6.
The Hoppz app is a service that the creators say will only continue to grow as they are looking to expand into bigger markets and getting more users.
You can download it on the Apple App store.
