A New Bedford business owner is putting a tasty twist on those dreaded parking tickets. Jessica Savage, the owner of Tia Maria's European Café' on North Water Street has gotten so many complaints from angry customers about
getting parking tickets, she decided to launch a unique campaign.
Customers who bring in their parking ticket from that day
can now get a free pastry. Savage says so far her campaign to brighten the spirits of others is working. “To cheer them up I started to give away the pastels de nata
so it did help sooth the pain of receiving a parking ticket… we all know it's
not a fun time, ” says Savage.
The pastry is a Portuguese egg tart. Without the parking ticket, the tart will cost you $1.25.
