New Bedford creates relief fund after 27 people were displaced by Thanksgiving Day fire

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) – The City of New Bedford has created a relief fund for the families who were displaced after a Thanksgiving Day fire destroyed three homes on Washburn Street. 

The First Citizens’ Credit Union established a Washburn Fire Victims Fund, where 100% of donations will be distributed to each of the families involved.

To donate, checks should be made out to the Washburn Fire Victims Fund, and can be dropped off or mailed to the Inter-Church Council at 128 Union Street Suite 100, New Bedford MA 02740.

Donations can also be left at any First Citizens’ Federal Credit Union.  To donate online, click here.
