New Bedford man accused of robbing passenger at MBTA’s Back Bay station

A New Bedford man is accused of trying to rob a passenger Thursday at the MBTA’s Back Bay station.

“Police..Help..Police,” were scream police heard at about 8:30 p.m.

Transit police said they went in the direction of the screams and found a man who pointed at Jamaal Rahmeem, 38.

The victim told police that Rahmeem tried to forcefully take a suitcase he was carrying.

“The victim and Rahmeen struggled over control of the suitcase and the victim was able to fend off Rahmeen,” transit police said in a release Friday.
