New Bedford man facing multiple charges after early morning crash

REBOBOTH, Mass. (WLNE)- Officers were called to the area of Kingsley Way and Davis Street just after 1 a.m. on Saturday morning for a report of a possible motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers found what they described as a heavily damaged car in the roadway.  The car had failed to stop at the end of Kingsley Way and struck a guard rail, before hitting a cement retaining wall.

One male occupant was found still in the drivers seat, and was identified as 39-year-old Jacob Bruns of New Bedford.

Sergeant Craig Forget says Bruns was placed under arrest and charged with an OUI – Alcohol 2nd offense, Negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and Marked Lanes violation.

Bruns was transported to the Rehoboth Police Department where he was booked, before being transported to Ash Street Jail in New Bedford, where he awaits bail.
