New Bedford performance venue ordered to close for violating COVID-19 regulations

NEW BEDFORD, MASS (WLNE) –  The New Bedford Health Department issued a cease and desist order to The Bar at 266 Dartmouth Street on Wednesday.

According to the New Bedford mayor’s office, this is The Bar’s third violation of regulations to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Bar was fined $2,9000 and was ordered to shut down immediately, and may not be allowed to reopen until Phase 4.

The Bar was previously fined $300 for serving alcohol without food and for the failure of employees to wear a mask.

On November 21, The Bar was fined $600 for again not having employees wear a mask.
