New Bedford police arrest man, woman on gun charges

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — New Bedford police said Thursday that a man and woman were arrested earlier this week on gun charges.

Police responded to the intersection of Rivet and County streets Tuesday for an altercation involving a gun.

When they arrived, the area was cleared. However, while driving down County Street, police said they stopped a car driving the opposite way.

Officers searched the car and found a loaded handgun with the serial number scratched off in the middle console.

Police arrested the driver, 31-year-old Felicia Dias, and passenger, 25-year-old Rashawn Gray. Both are facing illegal possession charges.

Gray was also charged with assault of a deadly weapon.
