New Bedford police officer arrested for child pornography

NEW BEDFORD, MA – A New Bedford police officer was arrested today and charged in Boston federal for child pornography.

 Paul Hodson, 42, of Acushnet, Massachusetts, was charged with distribution and possession of child pornography, according to Massachusetts U.S Attorney Andrew E. Lelling.

Hodson was interviewed and admitted to using peer-to-peer file sharing software to trade child pornography.

Hundreds of child pornography files were recovered from Hudson, including at least one file that was distributed to undercover law enforcement.

Hodson is facing up to 40 years in prison and fines of up to $500,000.
