New Bedford Rally for closure of Ash Street Jail

NEW BEDFORD, R.I. (WLNE) – Community Leaders, legislators and families are coming together for a rally to demand closure of the Ash Street Jail, which originally opened in 1888.

The Choir will be going to the rally to sing carols to those inside the jail.

The Rally begins Sunday, December 12 at noon, where people will gather at 558 Pleasant Street in Downtown New Bedford and march to the jail.
