NEW DETAILS: Update on Juvenile Woonsocket Stabbing Suspect
On Friday April 30th at about 4:00pm the Woonsocket Police arrested a 16 year old male, Woonsocket resident, for Felony Assault. The arrest was a result of a week long investigation following the stabbing of a 74 year old male on Diamond Hill Road. Detectives, specifically Det. Sgt. Phil Kamer and Det. Sgt. Mark Cabral, throughout the week passed out informational flyers asking for the public's assistance. This investigative tactic produced numerous leads in which the detectives followed up on. One of these leads resulted in enough information to charge the youth for the crime against the 74 year old male. The juvenile was held at the police station and then brought to the Rhode Island Training School pending a Family Court Proceeding later next week. The Woonsocket Police would like to thank the public for their assistance and the tremendous effort of Det. Sgt. Phil Kamer and Det. Sgt. Mark Cabral.
