New Hampshire man arrested in connection to baby born, abandoned in woods

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (WLNE) — A 45-year-old man was arrested in connection to a baby that was birthed and abandoned in the woods last month.
Police said George Theberge, 45, was believed to have been with the baby’s mother when she gave birth in a tent on the West Side of Manchester just before 1 a.m. on Dec. 26.
The temperatures were around 15 degrees when 26-year-old Alexandra Eckersley gave birth.
Police found the newborn alone in a tent in the woods.
Further, police said that the baby had been left alone for over an hour before being found.
Eckersley was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless conduct.
On Dec. 26, police said the baby was alive and was taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital.
