New Job for RI Democratic Gov. Candidate, Frank Caprio

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – The onetime Rhode Island Democratic candidate for governor who said President Barack Obama could “shove it” shortly before November's election has a new career at an Atlanta-based finance firm.

Former General Treasurer Frank Caprio is now a managing director at Chatham Capital, a firm that concentrates on small and middle-market businesses. The company tells The Associated Press in
a release that Caprio opened up a Providence office for the firm.

Caprio holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard University. He was scheduled to deliver a speech Wednesday at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles on
entrepreneurial finance.

Caprio came in third in the four-way gubernatorial race after his comments about Obama, prompted by the president's decision not to endorse anyone. Independent Lincoln Chafee won the election.
