WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – T.F. Green Airport will soon welcome a new airline, giving air travelers in Southern New England a new low-cost option.

The Rhode Island Airport Corporation announced Friday that the newly launched Breeze Airways has selected T.F. Green as one of 16 inaugural airports.  The new airline was founded by JetBlue creator David Neelman.

Breeze will begin service on July 22, 2021 with service to Charleston, South Carolina.  They’ll quickly expand routes a week later, flying to Norfolk and Pittsburgh.

The goal of the airline is to offer direct flights at a lower cost instead of connecting through major hubs.  Fares will be grouped into “nice”, “nicer”, and “nicest” seats, based on amenities.

Another perk, Breeze allows flight cancellations or changes to a flight up to 15 minutes before the scheduled departure without a fee.
