New parking meters are now up and running in Providence.

Seven new meters have been placed on Spruce Street, and will only take credit and debit cards. Approximately 35 new meters went up between Spruce and the East Side.

The city is adding 700 new metered spaces along Federal Hill, Hope Street, and Wayland Square.

Mayor Elorza estimates these meters will bring more than $4 million in revenue.
