New splash pad opens in Taunton

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Mayor Shaunna O’Connell joined public officials and residents to celebrate the opening of the new Weir Riverfront Splash Pad on East Water Street.
The new attraction next to Patriots Playground will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. until the end of the summer.
It includes 24 different spray zones, a toddler water table, and a cascading bucket water drop, as well as a picnic area and shaded structures for families to enjoy.
“Taunton is the place we all love to call home, and I want residents to have fun, safe places to enjoy and create great memories,” O’Connell said.
She added that the splash pad is designed for children up to 12-years-old and is fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
