After a beloved turtle name Franklin was stolen from the Fall River library a local business man has donated a new turtle to the library.

The Fall River Library has welcome an 8-year-old male Russian Turtoise donated from Bob Schenck of the Animal Instinct Aquarium and Pet Center in Fall River. Schenck also donated a habitat for the new turtle including a tank that locks.

The library hasn’t named its new amphibious friend, they are leaving that up to their children patron. Starting on Monday there will be a suggestion box at the circulation desk where children can suggests names for the turtle.

The library will then chose the best name and that child will receive a $25 gift certificate courtesy of the Herald News.

Franklin the turtle was stolen from the library back in May.
