PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – The American Red Cross is in need for new volunteers to help support the Red Cross mission both locally, and by deploying out of state.

Local American Red Cross volunteers are deploying both virtually, and physically to support Red Cross relief efforts in response to the Oregon wildfires and Hurricane Laura.  Additionally, the Red Cross is mobilizing supplies and volunteers in anticipation of Tropical Storm Sally.

The American Red Cross is asking for volunteers to help staff shelter reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information collecting, and other vital tasks to help those in need.

For those interested in volunteering, please visit their website or contact Sarah Scheel at sarah.scheel@redcross.org or 860-426-5795.
