New Year’s Eve restaurant fire ruled arson

By News Staff

A fire at a Providence Restaurant on New Years Eve last year has been ruled arson.

Fire investigators say they have determined that the fire at the former Pearl Restaurant on Charles Street was intentionally set using a flammable liquid.

The fire caused $2 million in damages.

The PFD Arson Squad and ATF are investigating and will be holding a press conference today at 1:30 p.m. to discuss the case.

The restaurant reopened last week under a new name, Prime Cut Modern Steakhouse and Mezzo nightclub.
