Newly elected Senator Zurier appointed to Senate Finance and Labor Committees
Zurier was elected in November replacing Senator Goldin, who currently serves in the Biden administration
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Senate President Dominick J. Ruggerio announced today that newly elected Senator Samuel D. Zurier has been appointed to the Senate Finance and Labor committees.
The Finance Committee is responsible for handling all matters related to revenue, appropriations and taxes. The Labor Committee handles legislation relating to workers’ compensation and labor laws for the state.
Senator Zurier served on the Providence School Board from 2000 to 2002, then on the Providence City Council from 2011 to 2018. He has worked as an attorney for private practice, and co-founded several educational advocacy groups.
Senator Zurier represents District 3 in Providence.
