Newport Police have arrested the man they believe started a fire in a Walmart Monday night.

Police say George Reddick, 58, of New York City, turned himself into police early Wednesday morning.

After conducting witness interviews and viewing surveillance footage, investigators were able to identify Reddick, who had been in the store for an extended period of time and even changed clothes.

The investigation also revealed that Reddick had approached Walmart personnel seeking employment with the store.

Reddick is being charged with Arson and will also be arraigned for an unrelated charge of Failing to Appear for a Pre-Trial Conference in regards to a 2012 Shoplifting charge.
