Newport woman hospitalized with leg injury after bombings
A Newport woman injured in the Boston Marathon Bombings on Monday remains hospitalized at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
Heather Abbott, a 1992 graduate of Lincoln High School who now lives in Newport was injured when one of the bombs exploded near the finish line.
She is currently listed in stable condition after friends say she underwent a bypass surgery Tuesday night to restore blood flow in her leg to her foot. It is unclear at this time wether the surgery was a success.
