Nice Friday before much needed (but poorly timed!) rain
After a record-setting cold morning across the area, temperatures rose into the 50s and 60s today, with full sunshine helping to make up for the cool numbers.
Expect a similar day on Friday with clouds increasing by Friday night. Then, here comes the rain – and there could be a lot of it on Saturday.
A coastal low, currently over the Carolinas, will slowly move up the eastern seaboard, bringing with it ample moisture. The heaviest rain is expected to arrive here during the PM hours.
Over an inch is likely, with locally higher amounts. Considering we are running about an inch and a quarter dry for May, this rain is much needed.
Sunday will be salvageable as rain exits stage left during the early morning hours and the sun returns, with highs in the 70s.
Have a great night!
