No charges against the owner of dogs that killed Rehoboth teen

DIGHTON, Mass. (WLNE) – No charges will be filed against the owner of the dogs that killed a Rehoboth teen, an official review concludes.

The results of the investigation into the death of 14-year old Ryan Hazel were released Friday by the office of the Bristol County District Attorney.

Hazel was killed May 9 by a group of dogs belonging to Scott Dunmore, of Dighton. The teen was caring for the animals while Dunmore was away.


According to the report, the Office of the Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be multiple bite wounds and ruled the death accidental. No charges will be filed against Dunmore.

The five dogs involved in the death of Hazel were euthanized May 23.
