No charges filed against Barrington daycare accused of giving children melatonin gummies

BARRINGTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Barrington police said Wednesday that no charges were filed against the daycare accused of giving two children melatonin gummies.

The Department of Children, Youth and Families confirmed it was investigating Kids Quarters daycare facility after a spokesperson for Kids Quarters said two children were given one kids melatonin gummy each.

Kids Quarters added the employee in question had passed a rigorous pre-employment background check and was terminated after the incident.

Michael Correia with Barrington police said all parents of the involved children did not wish to pursue criminal charges.

The investigation in the matter has since been closed.
