NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — North Kingstown police are searching for three suspects accused of robbing a Walgreens.

Police responded to Post Road around 9:15 a.m. for a report of a robbery.

When police watched surveillance, they learned that three black male suspects were wearing dark clothing with hooded sweatshirts, masks, sunglasses, and carrying a backpack before going in the store and rushing the pharmacy counter.

Then the males “verbally ordered an employee to open a safe and that no one would get hurt,” said police in a statement. “They then filled backpacks with medications and exited the store.”

Police said they left the parking lot in a black Toyota Camry.

Nobody was injured and no weapons were shown.

Later that day, police said a similar incident happened in Groton, Connecticut, including the same suspect and vehicle description.

The Detective Division is investigating.
