North Kingstown, Rogers, and Juanita Sanchez Win Girls State Title

Three girls basketball champions were crowned at the Ryan Center.

In Division 1, North Kingstown got the game winning basket from Taylor Buckley with ten seconds left to hold off Barrington, 41 to 39. Buckley scored 22 to earn MVP honors.  It's the Skippers first title in nine years.

It was a battle of unbeatens for the Division II title.  Rogers wins its first girls title with a 55 to 32 win over St. Raphael.  Josie Chaveswas the MVP, leading the Vikings with 26 points.

In Division III, Juanita Sanchez made it a threepeat by defeating North Smithfield, 59 to 27.  Sophomore Elfreda Hoff was the MVP, scoring 20 points in the victory.
