North Providence donates winter clothing to veterans

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The city of North Providence donated winter clothing to veterans on Thursday.

The North Providence Police Department, Mayor Charles Lombardi, and members from TD Bank visited the Veterans for Tomorrow home on Douglas Avenue.

The city gathered jackets, hats and gloves for the veterans — just in time for Veterans Day.

“This is our second year, and is extremely appreciated by our heroes,” said North Providence Police Chief Alfredo Ruggiero.

The home houses about 18 to 20 veterans.
