North Providence man arrested for drug possession, distribution

A North Providence man was arrested Friday after he was found in possession of heroin with the intent to distribute in the Mansfield and Foxboro area.

Mansfield Police Detectives, along with Foxboro Detectives and the Northern Bristol County Task Force, carried out a search warrant and arrested Jorge Luis Santiago in a parking lot in Mansfield.

Santiago was charged with: Possession with intent to distribute Class A (heroin), Class B (cocaine), Possession of a Forged RMV Document, False name to a police officer after arrest, and Operating with a suspended license.

Police recovered amounts of heroin and cocaine packaged for sale inside of Santiago‘s vehicle, along with cash and paperwork connected to distribution plans.

Santiago was held without bail and will be arraigned on Monday in Attleboro District Court.
