North Providence man charged with drug trafficking

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Attorney General Peter F. Neronha announced Thursday that a North Providence man has been charged with multiple counts of drug trafficking.

Rashaun Williams, 33, was arrested in September 2022 and charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine, possession with intent to deliver, and conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver.

The Rhode Island State Police High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force were investigating several individuals including Williams, and executed a warrant at the his apartment in North Providence.

There, they found a small, knotted plastic bag containing smaller knotted clear plastic bags containing crack cocaine, as well as quantities of cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, which were confirmed by the state forensic chemistry lab.

Williams is scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference on June 23 in Providence County Superior Court.
