NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) – North Smithfield Police have made an arrest in a series of vehicle break-ins around the town.

Thomas Fisher, 35, was arrested on Thursday after a resident reported seeing a man matching Police description of surveillance video of a break-in on Old Smithfield Road.

Police were able to positively identify the suspect after comparing Fisher’s tattoos to those of the man captured on video.

While executing a search warrant of Fisher’s residence, Police recovered several items that were reported stolen from numerous vehicles.

Fisher is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Third District Court on the five counts of tampering with an auto and five counts of larceny from a motor vehicle.
