North Smithfield Police Arrest B&E Suspect

On 6-24-10 at approximately 1746hrs, members of the North Smithfield Police patrol unit arrested Jonathan A. Michaels, age 38, of Charlton, MA for the B&E of a residence located on Sayles Hill Road.
Police responded to the area of the Rt. 146 Sunoco for a suspicious male person. Once patrol units arrived on scene, the male subject was located and identified as Jonathan Michaels, an individual who was, hours earlier, arrested and summonsed by this department for driving on a suspended license on Iron Mine Hill Road. As officers questioned Michaels about his activity in the area of Sunoco, a B&E report was received by North Smithfield Police dispatch in the Sayles Hill Road area which is in the immediate area of Rt. 146 Sunoco.
Evidence collected at the scene of the B&E as well as items found in the area of the Sunoco gas station implicated Michaels in the crime. Michaels was charged with B&E, larceny over $500.00, vandalism, driving on a suspended license. Michaels was held overnight and transported to 6th Division of the District Court for arraignment.
