Northampton Fire Chief appointed Massachusetts’ next State Fire Marshal

BOSTON (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Fire Service Commission announced it selected the state’s next Fire Marshal last week.

According to the commission, Northampton Fire Chief Jon Davine, a U.S. Marine Corps. veteran with nearly 25 years of firefighting experience was selected to serve the state as its Fire Marshal.

Davine served as chief of Northampton Fire Rescue since 2020 and boasts lengthy experience with fire rescue services and emergency

“As a firefighter and a Chief, I recognize and value the resources and support that the Department of Fire Services provides to Massachusetts fire departments every day,” Davine said.

“I’m honored by the trust that the Fire Service Commission has placed in me to lead this vital agency and the dedicated staff across all its divisions, who have given so much to the fire service and the Commonwealth.”
