Numerous units continue searching for missing 11-year-old boy

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WLNE) – The search for a missing 11-year-old boy continued on Wednesday along the Connecticut and Chicopee Rivers.

A spokesperson for Massachusetts State Police said numerous State police, Chicopee police, and Environmental police units returned to the rivers and the areas along the banks to continue their search for missing Aiden Blanchard.

The search teams were comprised of the State Police Marine Unit, boats from the Chicopee and Environmental police, State Police Dive Team, K9 Unit, and Air Wing.

The spokesperson said the search teams did not find any evidence related to the 11-year-old’s disappearance.

Massachusetts State Police said Aiden Blanchard was last seen on Friday, February 5 around 11:30 a.m. as he was walking along the Willamansett area of Chicopee.

Aiden was last seen walking near Old Field Road, and was believed to be heading in the direction of the Medina Street boat launch along the Connecticut River.

Authorities said Aiden is 5′ tall, 100 pounds, has brown hair, blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a red ski jacket and black ski pants.

State police said all evidence suggests that Aiden was alone near the river when he went missing. Based on the information collected by detectives, no foul play is suspected.
