Off-duty West Warwick officer arrested on domestic violence charges

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – An off-duty West Warwick police officer was arrested Monday night during an investigation into a domestic violence incident.
West Warwick police say Riccardo Erilus, a two-year veteran of the department, was arrested at a residence in Cranston.
He was arrested on one count of domestic simple assault and one count of domestic disorderly conduct, both of which are misdemeanor offenses.
Erilus was off-duty at the time of the incident.
He was arraigned during a special arraignment at the Cranston Police Department Headquarters and released. Erilus has been placed on administrative leave pending the result of an internal investigation by the West Warwick Police Department.
