NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE)- An office manager at a New Bedford law firm has been charged for allegedly stealing nearly one million dollars from the firm, the The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office announced on Wednesday.

Nadine Santos, a 54-year-old Tiverton woman, allegedly stole over $900,000 from the firm during her 16 year tenure as the office manager.

As office manager she had full access to the firm’s finances and bank accounts. She paid bills and handled payroll for the firm.

The District Attorney’s Office says that Santos allegedly paid herself $200,000 more than she was supposed to from 2015-2019.

She also allegedly used $650,000 worth of funds to pay off credit card debts on her and her husband’s credit cards.

Santos was charged with 14 counts of larceny over $1,200 on May 19 in Fall River Superior Court. Her bail was set for $3,000.

She is set to be back in court on June 22 for a pretrial hearing.
