Officer sees trend in drug dealers, leads to two separate arrests

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE)- A New Bedford Patrol Officer made two recent drug arrests after noticing the same thing in both cases.

The officer noticed a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on Ashley Boulevard early on Thursday morning.

He stopped and observed the vehicle from the outside, he noticed a duffel bag that was later found to have about 8 pounds of marijuana inside.

The officer arrested 21-year-old Kyle Murry of Brockton. Murry was charged with possession to distribute a class D substance.

About two weeks earlier, the same officer made an arrest on June 11.

He was searching an apartment on Collette Street, when he spotted another duffel bag.

This time the bag had 10 pounds of marijuana inside.

Omar Rojas, 23, was charged with possession to distribute a class D substance.
