Man surrenders in apparent standoff in Central Falls

CENTRAL FALLS, R.I. (WLNE) — A man was taken into custody after an apparent standoff in Central Falls.

ABC 6 News crews at the scene saw a man come out of a home on the corner of Tremont and Hadwin streets just before 9 p.m. Monday.

Several police departments, including Rhode Island State Police, had the Tremont Street home isolated for nearly three hours while they negotiated with the man.

The officers were heavily armed, in tactical gear, and used other tactical equipment.

The suspect was seen walking back and forth through a second-floor window of the home. He could also be heard yelling at police, saying “What did I do wrong?”

ABC 6 News has reached out to Central Falls police for more information.
