OFFICIAL: Children, Driver Hurt in Providence Bus Accident
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A school official says three children and a school bus driver were hurt when a car apparently rear-ended the bus in Providence, wedging under the bus up to its windshield.
Christina O'Reilly of Providence Public Schools tells The Associated Press about 15 students from Spaziano Elementary School were on the bus when it was apparently rear-ended
Tuesday after school. She says she doesn't know whether the bus was stopped.
O'Reilly says three students were taken by ambulance to Hasbro Children's Hospital as a precaution.
Fire Chief Timothy McDaniel says most of them were complaining of neck and back injuries. He says they were about 8- to 10-years-old.
McDaniel says the bus driver was very upset, and she and the driver of the car were taken to Rhode Island Hospital.
