WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE)- A total of four men were rushed to the hospital after a stabbing in Woonsocket Sunday morning.

Woonsocket police said officers were called to Morin Heights for a report of a disturbance at 1:40 a.m.

Officers found a man inside of an apartment suffering from a head injury and bleeding from his nose, mouth, and knees.

He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

Officers learned the man was jumped by three others who left the area before police arrived. Police were then notified three stabbing victims were taken to Landmark Medical Center, one in critical condition.

One of the men was stabbed eight times which resulted in a punctured lung. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital.

Deputy Chief Michael Lemoine said officers experienced a “hectic scene as family members and several residents were outside screaming.”

Authorities determined the three men suffering from stab wounds were connected to the incident. After investigating, police found that an initial dispute had first started at a night club in Providence, and retaliation followed in Woonsocket.

Woonsocket police confirmed 24-year-old Jose Hernandez Aquino was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Aquino and the two other stabbing victims assaulted the man at Morin Heights, according to Woonsocket police.
